THE PIN: We wanted to evoke a classic, vintage feeling with Qi'ra's design, as the filmmakers described the character as "film noir", and the aesthetic of the First Light, Dryden Vos's ship, is undeniably art deco. Since she's our first charity pin (see below!), it seemed fitting to give her back pin the gold plating treatment that lends itself to that look.

Behind Qi'ra, the First Light stands like a skyscraper framed by searchlights, a common motif in film noir crime pieces. At its top is the circular window that halos Qi'ra in the pivotal moment when she begins her ascent towards leader of the syndicate. The window fades into the colors of Crimson Dawn, while above it shines the golden star from Corellia's flag, also representing a piece of raw coaxium...brimming with potential, yet dangerous, not unlike Qi'ra herself. Her flower is columbine, which depending on the color, can mean "resolved to win", or sometimes, "folly".
