The Brother - Triptych Windows Series

THE PIN: Fives' window is a tribute to the tragedy of the brotherhood of clones. Instead of holding his weapon, Fives reflects on his helmet while in the twilight behind him, the waves of Kamino rise and threaten to crash over the sun, often used as a symbol of hope in our windows. At the top of the frame, the Republic crest has been worked into a Celtic knot as a symbol of unbreakable bonds. On either side of it, in shades of memory, Rex, Cody, Fives, and Echo cling to each other's arms (not unlike Rex and Ahsoka did during the fallout of Order 66). Around Fives grows yellow coltsfoot or tussilago, a flower often mistaken for the common dandelion, but singularly unique. In ancient times coltsfoot was given the title “Filius ante patrem” (son before father) due to its habit of blooming before its foliage appeared. A gift of yellow coltsfoot was a pledge: Justice will be done.

In order for Fives to match our other windows, his distinctive tattoo had to fall on his non-facing side, but we wanted to feature it - so it made its way onto his pauldron.

THE SERIES: Those of you who have been here long enough will have grown used to seeing something different in this space. Something to the effect of: "A triptych is a piece of art that is divided into three, fairly common among old stained glass installations. The goal with this series is to create enough pins of beloved SW characters for people to build their own triptych in a custom frame resembling a stone wall we hope to fund..." All we'll say for the moment is...keep an eye on the horizon. ;)
