The Chosen One - Triptych Windows Series
The Chosen One - Triptych Windows Series
THE PIN: Everything in Anakin's design is overshadowed by the presence of Palpatine/Darth Sidious. The curtains flowing out of his robes serve two purposes: they're a nod to the Greek myth/Shakespearean drama influences in Star Wars, but they also represent the darkness that at least in this form of Anakin is tentatively bound back. The thing doing the binding is ivy, which symbolizes eternity, attachment, and wedded love, standing for Padme. While the two suns harken to Tatooine (and George's early prophesy ideas on "The Son of Suns"), the way one frames Anakin like a halo illuminates him as the Chosen One...and notice, their light still shines through the places even where the curtains of darkness have started to fall.
THE SERIES: A triptych is a piece of art that is divided into three, common among old stained glass installations. The goal with this series is to create enough pins of beloved SW characters for people to build their own triptych in a custom frame resembling a stone wall we hope to fund - but that's a ways down the road. For now, suffice to say, these 5" pin-on-pins will have the character opaque in the foreground while the window behind will have transparent/stained glass effects.
