The Nobody - Triptych Windows Series

THE PIN: The flower springing up between the roots of the oak tree in this window is astilbe, meaning patience or literally, "I'll still be waiting". Oak is a fairly common tree, sometimes overlooked...but it's incredibly resistant to drought, capable of bearing green in oppressive conditions. Despite being abandoned alone on Jakku, Rey maintains the ability to be kind, and good - to bear green in a desert place. Once on her journey, her view of the galaxy expands quickly, and she sees it out the window of the Millenium Falcon, where she finds a new family. Pictured at the top of the window is Luke's island on Ahch-To and its reflection, cast in darkness. But even here, the dark is tempered by light, just as the light of the sun above the mountain has a shadow. Although Rey is often depicted purely as the light while Kylo is considered the dark, these two are in fact balance; Rey knows darkness through her familial ties and passion, while Kylo runs from the light still manifest in the person of Ben.

THE SERIES: A triptych is a piece of art that is divided into three, common among old stained glass installations. The goal with this series is to create enough pins of beloved SW characters for people to build their own triptych in a custom frame resembling a stone wall we hope to fund - but that's a ways down the road. For now, suffice to say, these 5" pin-on-pins will have the character opaque in the foreground while the window behind will have transparent/stained glass effects.
