The General - Triptych Windows Series
The General - Triptych Windows Series
THE PIN: The top of Obi-wan's window is set with the symbol of the Jedi Order, but it's upside-down, representing the fall of the order. Foxglove flowers harken to Duchess Satine's iconic headdress, while framing the window is Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber, since Maul's story are two important bookends in Obi-wan's life. Lastly, we have the twin suns of Tattooine. It's kind of an accidental detail, but I like that the morning star from the Jedi symbol is still rising over Tattooine like hope.
THE SERIES: A triptych is a piece of art that is divided into three, fairly common among old stained glass installations. The goal with this series is to create enough pins of beloved SW characters for people to build their own triptych in a custom frame resembling a stone wall we hope to fund. These 5" pin-on-pins will have the character opaque in the foreground while the window behind will mainly be transparent/stained glass, expect for smaller areas.
