“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row…
…We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields…”

In Flanders Fields by John McCrae

Poppies are a symbol of remembrance and sacrifice. Soberingly, they are also the commemoration flowers of WW1, as the bright blooms occasionally grew on otherwise desolate battlefields, bringing hope to soldiers surrounded by destruction. Here we’ve pictured them blossoming around a Republic cruiser launching from the planet Coruscant. Behind the capital, beams of light splinter the darkness veiling the memorial to fallen troopers. We’ve hidden several familiar names in these beams that you may be able to see if you look closely.

Further down the window, the spokes of the Republic crest fit together like the gears of a machine…only the cogs doing the  turning are the cloning growth jars of Kamino.

We often use water to symbolize the journey of the clones, and here, it rises from below to drown the machine, and with it, the many clones that sacrificed to keep it running.
